Cerritos

I stayed at the Four Points Sheraton LAX for a night before transitioning to the Sheraton Cerritos. At the Four Points, I ended up having to switch rooms when my initial room had too strong of a  marijuana smell. Leary of the smell attaching itself to my work clothes, I went back and switched my double room for a king room. Surprisingly, the rooms are not the same size. I'm never sure with hotels if the King rooms are smaller than the Doubles but it appears so with the Four Points. The airport shuttle is shared between the Westin and the Four Points. Even though they say that the shuttle runs every 20, it is more like every 30 given the two stopping points.

The next day, checked into the Sheraton Cerritos Hotel. This is the first hotel that has asked for my government ID because of the rate I used. So there is someone that checks eventually! Either that or the hotel is looking to maximize revenue by routing out the imposters. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the hotel looks. The location is also good as it is within a corporate retail plaza. This hotel's TV also allowed for easy input switching so that I can use my computer as a media outlet.

Restaurants

I had not realized how heavily Koreans influence the city, I assumed it would have a greater Indian presence being next to Artesia. I went by and had dinner at Elbows Mac n' Cheese instead of having Korean BBQ or Chinese. I did stop by Fusion Tea Bar to grab an ice cream macaron sandwich. It is not as good as Snow Monster in Westminster.

I went out to eat at Ashoka The Great and tried the goat curry and garlic naan. The curry was a little too salty for my taste but it was good with the garlic naan. I did have to tone down the saltiness with some spicy green sauce. Afterwards, had brown sugar milk tea at Tea Bar Metro at 18174 Pioneer Blvd Artesia, CA 90701 which was one of the best brown sugar milk teas I've had. The boba was only ok. It is interesting to see the mix of Asian and Indian eateries within Artesia. Not quite New Delhi but about as close as it is going to get for me.

I went out with an old colleague to Cho Dang Tofu at 12245 E Artesia Blvd, Cerritos, CA 90703. I had ordered my tofu soup as extra spicy and did not taste any heat. I'm not sure if they did not do it or if that is normal. My companions ordered a combination with spicy chicken and beef bulgogi with their tofu soup. I liked the chicken but the beef was a little dry. One of the perks of eating at this restaurant, there is a soft serve machine for any customer. It is nice that the restaurant gives this as a snack but I liked McDonald's or Souplantation soft serve more. Afterwards, grabbed some drinks at Bambu. It is more of a take on Vietnamese desserts than milk tea but they do sell milk bubble tea. I still have my favorite che place but others like this chain a lot.
