Waikiki

So we had a couple of travel deals to use in a short time frame and hopped onto Southwest Airlines to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport

I opted to book my stay at Hokulani Waikiki Honolulu especially since I was trying to avoid getting a vehicle. On this trip, Waikiki seemed to be getting more and more international travelers again. Things were more livelier than in recent years.

This trip was mostly a food eating tour....

Alley Restaurant & Bar - how can I not have some tasty chicken??!

Musubi Cafe Iyasumi Beachwalk - One of the best things about Hokulani is the proximity to the newest location for Iyasumi. It is a very small shop and doesn't have all the regular menu items but it hits the spot and they are open late.

Sconees Bakery (1117 12th Ave Honolulu, HI 96816- While waiting for a table at Koko Head Cafe, I spied this small bakery across the street and they have very lovely scones.

Pipeline Bakeshop & Creamery - Claim to fame for this malasada shop is malasada ice cream sandwiches. Overall, the malasadas are tasty and no lines out and down the block like Leanord's.

Koko Head Cafe - I've been meaning to get to this cafe for a long time and I finally made it out to this area via uber. I enjoyed the cinnamon rolls, volcano eggs, and the mama's udon noodles.

Hoku's Kahala - So I have been targeted by the Google algorithms and saw a youtube clip about this high end brunch buffet in Hawaii. So I wanted to try it out....If you're looking for a swanky place and unlimited poke, this is your jam....In the brunch buffet, there are two items that is part of the brunch but limited quantities and you have to order from the server - crab legs and ahi musubi. Parking is included but you need to get validated. Although for the price you are paying, it definitely shouldn't be extra to park.

After brunch, I did take a walk around the hotel grounds and it is very impressive. There is a lagoon in the middle of the property where there are rooms that face into the lagoon which is also a dolphin preserve. Kind of cool but seems small for the mammals.

Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice - they have expanded beyond Maui and now in Honolulu and down the street from Leonard's. My friends were able to experience a new shave ice since Maui isn't often a destination.
